Area Information

Locality - The apartment is situated between Alicante and La Manga in the Orihuela Costa region, close to Villamartin with its stylish restaurants and bars. There are numerous smaller towns of equal beauty and charisma just a few minutes drive from the apartment, including La Zenia, Campaomor.

Airports - The nearest is Murcia, a 20 minute drive away and Alicante is approximately 40 minutes away and are served by a variety of airlines. Flightline offer competitive fares.

Car Hire - Local Car hire is available at both airports from Solemar , Europa-Rentacar , and EuroCar. 

Beaches - The safe Blue Flag beaches of La Zenia, Cabo Roig, and Rio Mar are 3 to 4 km away and have clean sand, sparkling sea and a variety of water sports. This is where the Spanish come to holiday!

Amenities.
Within a short walking distance is a small supermarket catering especially for visitors to the surrounding area. There is a much larger supermarket (Carrefour) on the outskirts of Torrevieja (about 20 minutes by car). There is a massive street market every Friday, and a daily indoor fish, fruit and meat market in Torrevieja. More markets are to be found in San Pedro de Pinater and in Alicante. there is also a "tourist" market every day on the front in Torrevieja. There are two nearby Aqua Parks, and horse riding and tennis are also available.

The Area.
Torrevieja lies in the southern most part of the Land of Valencia on the Spanish Costa Blanca. The Town lies along a broad coastal plain, with its face to the Mediterranean and its back to the Nature Reserve of the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja. The coast is lined by beaches of fine sand provided with a complete range of beach services. The area enjoys year round fine weather with average temperatures ranging from 15 degrees in January to 29 degrees in August. The World Health Organisation has described this area as one of the healthiest climates in the world. The area is very cosmopolitan with people from all over Europe visiting to enjoy the clement weather, lovely beaches and excellent range of sporting facilities, particularly the golf. The new motorway from Alicante to Cartegena in just a 10 minute drive away and makes for very easy access to both Alicante and Murcia airports.

Las Ramblas Golf Course
This stunning course is the shortest of courses, but without doubt the most challenging, as it requires accuracy and thought at each hole. High trees, natural fairways and ravines feature strongly in this memorable course. The ninth hole, a par 4 with teeshot over a lake, is pretty as a picture. A golf and nature experience above average!

This exclusive development is about 5 km from the coast where you can enjoy fine sandy beaches and all year round good weather (this is one of the driest area in Spain). The area is still under development, but the golf course is established and very well maintained. There are two other golf courses within 5 minutes of Las Ramblas - Villamartin Golf club (which hosted the 1994 Mediterranean Open) and Campoamor Golf club, but Las Ramblas is certainly the most challenging. The golf clubhouse is just a short walk from the apartment where a range of lunches and drinks can be enjoyed in the air-conditioned bar or out on the terrace. Local shops and supermarkets are just a 5 minute drive away as are a very wide range of coastal restaurants and nightclubs. The plaza at Villamartin offers a wide range of shops and restaurants and provides a relaxed and tranquil setting for enjoying a meal. The new clubhouse, bar and restaurant at Campoamor is a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk away.

Las Ramblas is an 18 hole course, set in beautiful hilly countryside with a excellent bar/restaurant on site. As an alternative the "Las Ramblas" course offers an excellent round of golf for the experienced golfer, and it has been said that it is the most challenging of all courses in the area, but we are sure you would like to determine this for yourselves. Take plenty of balls. You'll need them!

Beaches and Non-golf related activities There are a host of fine sandy beaches just 5 minutes drive from the apartment. Beach bars and restaurants and a variety of watersports are also available. Horse riding, walking and biking is available nearby. During the day the area around the apartment is quiet and peaceful and an ideal environment to relax in. Torrevieja offers a wide range of shopping facilities as well as many restaurants and bars. During the summer months, there are a variety of festivals, fireworks and other evening activities taking place.
